Jasleen Royal, who is known to compose songs with either a Western influence or Punjabi flavour, comes up with a track which has a heavy South Indian rhythm to it. The latest song from Siddharth P Malhotra's Hichki, 'Madamji Go Easy', sung by Benny Dayal and David Klyton, is a fun song, thanks to its easy tune and quirky, catchy lyrics.
Lyrics (written by Raj Shekhar and David Klyton) like 'Sab wifi hum 3G' and 'Vasco Da Gama Columbus ka mama' don't really mean anything but stick very easily because of their quirkiness.
The video follows Rani Mukerji, who plays a teacher in the film, as she is ragged by her students. As we already know, Mukerji's character in the film is handed the responsibility of teaching poor students who have been enrolled in an elite school under the Right To Education Act. These students find it difficult to cope with the studies and, with their teacher's speech defect, engage in pranks on her.
'Madamji Go Easy' is a track where, on the one hand, the students ask their teacher to go easy on them because they are not so bright and on the other, pull a fast one on her.
It's a fun track to watch and listen to, especially in the context of the film.
Directed by Siddharth P Malhotra, Hichki will be released on 23 March.
