She was my childhood: Priyanka Chopra remembers Sridevi in TIME magazine tribute

Chopra called Sridevi, who died on 24 February 2018, ‘the ultimate actor’ and shared her last memory of them together at an awards function.

Actress Priyanka Chopra is one of the many fans across the globe paying tribute to Sridevi after her untimely death a week ago.

Writing a tribute for the TIME magazine, Chopra wrote of her childhood idol, “Sridevi Kapoor shared an intimate relationship with the camera, and it loved her like no other, passionately capturing every aspect of that expressive face and her equally expressive frame. She loved it back with equal force.”

She shared her writeup on Twitter, stating that Sridevi would be “forever in hearts”.

She also wrote of her special, and unfortunately, the last meet with Sridevi, on Chopra's lastest visit to India in December. The two actresses met at an awards function where Chopra was performing.

“In the frenzy of flashbulbs and whirring cameras, she pulled me into a tight hug and spoke lovingly and excitedly about her two daughters, Jhanvi [sic] and Khushi. Her family was her life. She left me feeling warm and fuzzy, and with a promise to meet again. But angels don’t pass on. They just shine brighter in another realm — so I will always look out for her in the sky,” she penned.

Chopra ended her TIME magazine tribute with a simple line, “Forever your fan”, after thanking Sridevi for leaving behind some magical movie memories.
