Boney Kapoor to immerse Sridevi's ashes in Rameswaram today

The death of Sridevi and its shockwaves have not yet abated, but the family is slowly attempting to make a return to normalcy. Sridevi's husband, Boney Kapoor, is expected to immerse her ashes at Rameshwaram in Tamil Nadu today. The actress passed away in Dubai on 24 February.

Sridevi, who was born in Tamil Nadu and became a superstar in Tamil cinema before making her Hindi debut in 1979, will be brought to the holy temple town for her final rites. The family had ensured a grand send off for the actress in Mumbai, where her condolence meet saw thousands of fans take to the streets.

After the funeral, Kapoor had put out a heartfelt statement requesting the fans and media to allow them space and privacy to 'grieve alone'.

Kapoor had added that his main concern now would be his daughters, and how to help them cope with the loss.

Sridevi is survived by husband Boney Kapoor, and two daughters, Jahnvi and Khushi. Jahnvi is expected to make her debut as an actress in Karan Johar's upcoming production, Dhadak.
