“Shantanu [Moitra] suggested that the kind of film we’re going for, it’s better that you, even the actors, hear the music and tonality, because we wanted a lot of poetry in the film. The poetry and simplicity of the October’s theme matched up to story of the film. Moitra had composed a theme track for Sircar's earlier production, Pink (2016), too. The composer has worked with Sircar on a number of projects including, ...Yahaan (2005) and Madras Cafe (2013).
“The day he created it and sent it to me, I thought it was magical. I dived into it, into that world. I hope people also enjoy and experience what I have experienced,” the director said.
October, starring Varun Dhawan and newcomer Banita Sandhu, is due to be released on 13 April 2018.
