Actor Kapil Sharma returned to television with a new show, but the artiste has also returned to courting controversies. Last week, it was reported that Sharma cancelled the shoot with team Baaghi 2 (2018). The TV channel had denied the same, with a source claiming that the Baaghi 2 team was never scheduled to come on the Family Time With Kapil show. Now, actress Rani Mukerji was to appear on the show yesterday, but Sharma cancelled the shoot.
A reliable source informed us, “Rani Mukerji was invited on Family Time With Kapil yesterday. The show roll time was 6pm. However, it was past 2pm, but there was no communication from the team of Family Time With Kapil. It was only around 5pm that Rani Mukerji’s team was informed that the shoot is cancelled.”
We tried getting a reaction from the channel, but to no avail. How, a source close to the Sony TV network informed, “Yes, it was Kapil Sharma who cancelled the shoot. The reason remains unknown. The channel will hold crunch talks with him today.”
Last year, it was Sharma’s health issues that caused a few episodes from The Kapil Sharma Show to be cancelled. Sharma had later checked into rehabilitation. He had admitted to becoming an alcoholic and getting anxiety attacks. Has those health issues resurfaced?
“No, I don’t think so. His seems to be in fine health. Maybe, he was upset by the negative reviews that his new show got. The channel had earlier cited technical reasons for cancellation of an episode. However, this time it’s difficult to hide it. Only Sharma can explain why he cancelled it,” added the source.
Even before the show went on air, Sharma had triggered a controversy after he hit out at his former colleague Sunil Grover on Twitter.
Family Time With Kapil was launched on 25 March on Sony Entertainment Television.
