The relations between India and Pakistan soured after the Uri attack of 2016. The event has specifically affected film affiliations between both the countries as Pakistani stars were banned from working on Indian productions.
In fact, Indian film personalities are even refraining from uttering words of praise for Pakistan or Pakistani artists fearing backslash from political outfits and groups. Rajamouli’s very public praise for Pakistan comes as a surprise.
Other Indian films to be showcased at the festival include, Sairat (2016), Dear Zindagi (2016), Kuch Bheegay Alfaaz (2018), Ankhon Dekhi (2014), Hindi Medium (2016), Nil Battey Sannata (2016) and Kadvi Hawa (2017).
