Actor Shahid Kapoor was put on the spot by Neha Dhupia on a chat show as his wife Mira Rajput looked on. Shahid Kapoor and Dhupia apparently made a dig at actress Sonam Kapoor for concentrating more on fittings than on readings.

Dhupia hosts the Vogue BFFs chat show on the Colors Infinity channel. She had invited Shahid Kapoor and his wife on the show, which has a segment called ‘say it or strip it’ in which if a celebrity fails to answer, s/he has to take off an item of clothing.

Dhupia asked the Padmaavat (2018) star to name a colleague who needs to spend more time in readings rather than fittings. Kapoor did not name any actress but said, "I have worked with actresses who I feel worry more about the costumes than their character, and I’m happy that is changing now." Dhupia's follow-up comment seemed directed at Sonam Kapoor: "Yeh mausam hai joote utaarne ka."

Shahid and Sonam had worked together in Pankaj Kapur's Mausam (2011). In the public consciousness, Sonam's image as a fashionista has been more appealing than her acting skills.

Shahid's wife Mira did not hesitate to name Vidya Balan as one actress who needs a stylist. Shahid, on his part, called Karan Johar the biggest diva of the film industry. "I say that with appreciation. I really think... it’s him. I don’t think he runs away from it," he said.

He named Ranveer Singh as the actor who needs to calm down. "I'm going to be honest about it. And I say it in a good way. Ranveer Singh is some who someone who has great amounts of energy. He keeps saying it himself half the time. I have worked with him. So, I can't think of anyone but him," he said.

Dhupia is fast gaining a reputation for getting Hindi cinema stars to speak their mind. She first made a name for herself by shooting the podcast NoFilterNeha, and was later roped in for the second season of celebrity chat show Vogue BFFs.
