Box office: Rani Mukerji's Hichki makes a decent Rs2.25 crore nett on first Monday

The film has so far made Rs17.50 crore nett in four days.

Actress Rani Mukerji’s Hichki had a decent opening, but the film has now picked up through the strong word-of-mouth publicity to earn good box office numbers on Saturday and Sunday.

The Yash Raj Films production bagged Rs2.25 crore nett on its first Monday, as reported by Boxofficeindia.com.

The film has so far made Rs17.50 crore nett in four days. The film had a limited release in 960 screens in India, while the budget has been a modest Rs20 crore (including prints and advertisements).

Since Yash Raj Films is itself distributing Hichki, it needs another Rs30 crore in its kitty to be declared a hit. A per a trade source, YRF has sold the satellite rights for Rs15 crore, and the digital rights could fetch it Rs5 crore.

Meanwhile, Ajay Devgn's Raid, too, had a good second Monday, bagging Rs2.25 crore nett. The film has so far made Rs77.36 crore nett in its Indian business.
