T-Series head honcho Bhushan Kumar is eyeing a bigger star for the production house's dream project, Mogul. Rumour has it that T-Series could want one of the Khans to play the lead.
Last year, T-Series made a grand announcement that Akshay Kumar would play the lead in the Gulshan Kumar biopic. The production house had even unveiled the first poster. However, a year later, the project hangs in the balance after Akshay Kumar pulled out.
Bhushan Kumar seems to have kept alive his hope of making the film based on the life of his father and T-Series founder Gulshan Kumar.
A report in the Deccan Chronicle newspaper quoted Bhushan Kumar as saying, “My father’s biopic is very close to me. That is the biggest announcement we have made in our lives and we will confirm an actor soon. He could be bigger than Akshay Kumar.”
Mogul will be directed by Subhash Kapoor, who had helmed the Akshay Kumar-starrer Jolly LLB 2 (2017).
Given how Salman Khan has his plate full, it is unlikely that he will take up the project. Aamir Khan is rumoured to be working on getting his own dream project, Mahabharata, underway, which is likely to keep him busy for the next couple of years. Perhaps the only Khan available might be Shah Rukh, who hasn’t announced his next project after he winds up Zero (2018).
