Sonam Kapoor and Anand Ahuja planning for a Geneva wedding

The union of actress Sonam Kapoor and businessman Anand Ahuja might just be the next big wedding to hit the news in 2018. After actress Anushka Sharma and cricketer Virat Kohli's high profile wedding in 2017, it seems the Kapoor family is preparing for the next big event.

According to a report in Mumbai Mirror tabloid, the family has already settled on the dates in May, and is preparing for the wedding in Geneva. 

According to reports, the actress took off on a trip to Austria last week after spending some time with her beau, hotelier Ahuja in London. The couple, after years of a secretive romance, made their relationship public on Sonam's father Anil Kapoor's 60th birthday last year. Since then, the two have been sharing pictures of each other on their Instagram pages. 

The tabloid report quoted a source close to the family as saying, "The date and venue for the wedding have been locked and mass bookings for flights are presently underway. Her dad Anil Kapoor is personally making phone calls to invite guests. There will be sangeet and mehendi ceremonies, followed by a traditional Hindu wedding." 

While there were speculations about the couple planning a destination wedding in Jodhpur and Jaipur, it seems likely that the family might opt for a more intimate wedding ceremony overseas with a limited number of guests before throwing a more lavish reception for the industry. 

The reports have also led to a rush among designers falling over themselves to create Sonam's bridal trousseau. However, the actress seems to be set on her close friends and designers, Abu Jani and Sandeep Khosla, as well as British designer duo, Tamara Ralph and Michael Russo.
