The first poster of director Viju Mane’s Marathi movie Shikari amazed the audience and hinted at the film being bold. However, the teaser of the film shocked the audiences for its erotic content, with a montage of scantily clad newcomer Neha Khan.
The makers have now revealed that Suvrat Joshi will play lead in the film.
Although this is his first film, Joshi isn’t an unknown face for the Marathi audience. The actor is famous for his role in the youth based television serial Dil Dosti Duniyadari. He played one of the main characters, Sujay Sathe, in the serial along with Amey Wagh. He was also seen in another television soap named Dil Dosti Dobara.
Joshi started off working as a school teacher, but soon found his calling and enrolled at the National School of Drama (NSD). After graduating, he became a part of theatre and acted in quite a few well-known plays like Knot In Focus, Binkaamache Sanvad, Dreams of Taleem and Amar Photo Studio.
Presented by Mahesh Manjrekar, Shikari also stars Kashmira Shah, Mrunmayee Deshpande, Bhalchandra Kadam, Vaibhav Mangle, Prasad Oak and Siddharth Jadhav (in a cameo).
Shikari will be released on 20 April.
