Aditi Singh Sharma criticises Jacqueline for ignoring Shreya Ghoshal in new 'Ek Do Teen'

While many have criticised the makers of Baaghi 2 for rehashing Madhuri Dixit's classic dance song 'Ek Do Teen' from Tezaab (1988), originally sung by Alka Yagnik, singer Aditi Singh Sharma has a different beef. And it is with the actress Jacqueline Fernandez who stars in this item song version.

The new 'Ek Do Teen' has been ably sung by Shreya Ghoshal, and is perhaps the saving grace of the song. But when Fernandez wrote several posts on her Twitter and Instagram accounts while promoting the song, she forgot to mention the star singer. She had tagged almost everybody in her post — from director Ahmed Khan and choreographer Ganesh Acharya to the film's lead actors Tiger Shroff and Disha Patni, but not the singer, Ghoshal or Sandeep Shirodkar, who has remixed the song.

Singer Sharma, who has sung songs like 'Main Heroine Hoon' from Heroine (2012) and 'High Heels' from Ki & Ka (2016), took to her social media account to express her displeasure about the same. 

"#JacquelineFernandez puts up various posts about her upcoming song and tags & mentions everyone possible BUT the singer or music recreator of the song, basically NO mentions of anything to do with music !!," she wrote. 

Apart from making a comment on how singers get treated in general, Sharma also pointed out the disparity between male and female singers. 

"Are we, musicians really this ignorable ? Or is it just the case with female singers ? I can put my money on it that this would never happen had #ArijitSingh or #SonuNigam been the singer," she added.

While Ghoshal appreciated what Sharma was trying to say, she also replied saying that she 'didn’t care much about what the actress wrote' and 'the real love of the fans and listeners' is what matters.

Ghoshal wrote: "Dear ADT! Big love for speaking up on my behalf and every other musician’s behalf for that matter. I honestly didn’t care much about what the actress wrote, it has never been important for me to be very frank. I also believe what truly is precious to us dedicated to music is the real love of the fans and listeners. For them singers composers writers are always bigger than who is lip syncing to it. Having said that, we have lot many battles to win with dignity, to bring the deserving respect for artists in this country. Which begins with unity amongst the whole music fraternity. It will happen slowly. There is always a new dawn after a long dark night."
