Box office: Ajay Devgn’s Raid crosses Rs50 crore nett


The film, directed by Raj Kumar Gupta, scores a decent Rs5.50 crore nett on its first Tuesday.

Actor Ajay Devgn’s Raid enjoyed a fairly good opening weekend, bagging close to Rs40 crore nett. It had a good Monday, too, making Rs6.25 crore nett. On its first Tuesday, it Raid made Rs5.25 crore nett.

The film, directed by Raj Kumar Gupta, that has largely received good reviews, crossed the Rs50-crore nett mark with its five-day total standing at Rs51.50 crore nett. Released across 3,200 screens in India, its estimated budget is said to be around Rs70 crore.

The film had a good start to the week and it will hope to continue the trend to surpass the making cost. As per trade sources, the producers have bagged Rs50 crore through the satellite, digital and overseas theatrical rights.

Come Friday, Yash Raj Films will release the Rani Mukerji-starrer Hichki. Thus, Raid will have do well over the week to get close to breakeven.

Meanwhile, the surprise hit of the year, Sonu Ke Titu Ki Sweety, is edging close to the Rs100 crore nett mark. The Luv Ranjan film collected around Rs75 lakh nett on its fourth Monday to take its total to Rs93.50 crore nett after 25 days.
