The first look of Anurag Kashyap's upcoming film Manmarziyaan captures a colourful romance that seems far from the director's usual genre. The makers of the film released the looks of the leads of the film — Abhishek Bachchan, Taapsee Pannu, and Vicky Kaushal.

While the film is reported to revolve around a complex love story featuring the three artistes, it does not lack any intensity. This factor is brought in, particularly, by Bachchan in the still. The actor looks completely different from his usual urbane, stylish self. With his new turbaned avatar as a Sikh, the actor seems to capture a certain mature intensity that adds to the curiousity about his role.
Contrasting Bachchan's look is the fun-filled appearances of Pannu and Kaushal. While Pannu plays the desi Punjabi girl with a penchant for fun, Kaushal comes across as the hip rockstar wannabe, complete with a Jim Morrison printed T-shirt.
The film is directed by Anurag Kashyap and written by Kanika Dhillon. Manmarziyaan is also produced by Aanand L Rai, and is scheduled to be released 7 September.
