Unconfirmed reports of Sara Ali Khan joining the cast of Simmba have been making rounds since the past few days. Now, the makers of the film have confirmed that the actress has signed the Rohit Shetty entertainer and will be seen opposite Ranveer Singh.
Karan Johar’s Dharma Productions, the producer of the film, said in an official announcement, “Now it’s confirmed. Rohit Shetty and Karan Johar have signed Sara Ali Khan for the film, which will be directed by Rohit. Sara will be seen opposite Ranveer, who plays the role of a notorious cop, Sangram Bhalerao.”

Sara is the daughter of Saif Ali Khan with his ex-wife Amrita Singh. Her debut film Kedarnath, opposite Sushant Singh Rajput, is yet to hits the theatres. The film, directed by Abhishek Kapoor, hit a hurdle after Prernaa Arora of KriArj Entertainment, one of the producers, had a fallout with the director. However, the shoot has been resumed.
Simmba is Ranveer Singh’s first association with Rohit Shetty for a film. It is also the first time that the Padmaavat (2018) actor will be seen essaying the role of a police officer.
This is Shetty’s third film revolving around a cop after Singham (2011) and Singham Returns (2014). It is also the first collaboration between him and producer Karan Johar.
