Filmmaker Kaushik Ganguly and the entire team of his upcoming film Kishore Kumar Junior are busy shooting in Jaisalmer now. The director shared some photos and videos of the shooting sequences from the set on Twitter today.
The film depicts the story of Kishore Kanthi (one who sings and performs Kishore Kumar songs) Goutam Ghosh, played by Prosenjit Chatterjee. While Aparajita Adhya portrays the onscreen wife of Chatterjee, actors Rajesh Sharma, Lama and Masood Akhtar enact other important characters in the film.
“The story is such that we need to shoot in deserts and forts. So Jaisalmer was the best choice. Unlike, what people might be thinking, Sonar Kella is not part of our film. We will be shooting in the villages of Jaisalmer,” Ganguly told Calcutta Times.
The shooting in Jaisalmer began on 15 March. The cast and the crew, amidst their work schedule, were seen having fun and unwinding on the sets. While Sharma played cards with the locals between shots, Lama’s failed attempts of playing the flute for a particular scene generated a lot of laughter.
Chatterjee reportedly studied and rehearsed the body language of the character at a studio in Kolkata before he delivered seven back-to-back shots, braving the heat in the desert. Adhya, on the other hand, seemed unable to control herself while crying for a song sequence and had to be stopped by the director.
