Anees Bazmee had last directed Ajay Devgn in Raju Chacha (2002). Their best work together was the 1998 romantic hit Pyaar To Hona Hi Tha.
Now, the duo could reunite if things fall in place. The buzz is that Bazmee has approached Devgn for his next comedy, tentatively titled Saade Saati.
As the title suggests, the film is about a man who is going through a seven-and-a-half-year period of the influence of Saturn (Shani) on his life. This phase is dreaded by many in India who believe in astrological mumbo-jumbo.
Bazmee confirmed to Cinestaan.com that he had approached Devgn for the film. “I have spoken to Ajay Devgn but nothing has been finalized," the director said. "In fact, my script, too, is not yet complete. So, it is a bit premature to talk about Saade Saati now.”
Bazmee's last release was Mubarakan (2017), while Devgn’s Raid hit the theatres today. The latter is likely to shoot next for the historical film Taanaji: The Unsung Warrior, slated for release next year.
