Director Vishal Pandya’s erotic revenge thriller Hate Story IV has managed average collections at the box office in India in the first week. The Urvashi Rautela-starrer has earned Rs18.25 crore in that period, as per numbers shared by Boxofficeindia.com.
The film collected Rs11.75 crore in the first three days. Following this, the numbers fell on Monday when it made Rs2 crore. From here on, the film continued to head downwards at the ticket window. In other words, it did not hold well on the weekdays.
Hate Story IV has underperformed more than the last film in the franchise. Hate Story 3 managed an impressive Rs34.77 crore in its first week, which made it a surprise hit.
3 Storeys, which was also released in the same week, earned a dismal Rs2 crore to Rs2.25 crore in the first week. The film has been receiving praise from the audiences and critics alike, but it has not reflected in the box office numbers.
Dil Juunglee, the other release of last week, has been a complete washout. The Taapsee Pannu and Saqib Saleem-starrer has earned barely Rs1.25 crore in its first week.
On the other hand, Luv Ranjan’s Sonu Ke Titu Ki Sweety has had a terrific third week, with Rs15.75 crore in its kitty. The grand total of the film, starring Kartik Aaryan, Nushrat Bharucha and Sunny Singh Nijjar, now stands at a stupendous Rs88.20 crore.
