"I didn't expect to be here as I was busy shooting. However, Victor (director Vijay Krishna Acharya) was kind enough to give me two days off. I got a surprise at the airport when Kiran turned up to receive me. I'm happy to be celebrating my birthday with Kiran, (son) Azad and my mother," Khan said.

"It is my birthday today, I thought I'd begin my Instagram journey by posting the image of the one lady because of whom I am here. Whatever I am today is because of her. It was Kiran who told me that she has been on Instagram for a while, and has enjoyed that process, so I thought I should give it a try too," he said, talking about his debut on the photo sharing app, Instagram.

Reflecting on the year gone by, Khan said, "Well it has been a great year. We had a wonderful success in the form of Secret Superstar. I have been fortunate to have have got the chance to work with Amitabh Bachchan. It's my dream come true to work with him. It's been a great year on the personal front too.

Parso raat jyada takleef thi, but he is better now."

Wife Kiran Rao said, "I don't want him to change. Although, I keep telling him that he smokes, doesn't spend too much time with us. Too occupied with his phone. However, I wouldn't be as happy if I tried changing him."

"There are too many qualities that I dont want him to change. His sensitivity and intelligence, for which I married him. The deep understanding which he has of people. His love, sense of caring, empathy for people, I think those qualities attracted me to him. Also his incredibly sharp creative mind. His ability to understand ideas, potential of ideas, these are things unique in him. I hope those never change," Kiran Rao added.
