Actress Gauahar Khan began her career as a model and is all set to return to her fashion roots by launching her upcoming clothing line on her mother, Razia Zafar's birthday on 15 March.
Khan explained why she chose the special day. "These are exciting times for me. The plan was to launch this on an appropriate day and what better day it could be than my mom's birthday as she has been my ultimate fashionista since my childhood," she said.
The actress revealed that her own sense of style comes from her mother. "“As a kid I used to always admire the way our mom dressed us up, even though we had a humble living. My mom would make sure that she would not make her kids step out of the house without socks and shoes, and also clips in my hair. Her saris used to always mesmerise everybody around her and I used to take pride in the way my mom carried her personality in any outfit she wore. I’m absolutely amazed with it even today," she said.
Her mother always made Khan's birthdays memorable. Even though she was the youngest of five sisters, she always had a new clothes and gave chocolates to all her classmates on her birthday.
This time around, Khan wants to return the favour. "That’s why growing up I knew that I would make my mom’s birthday extremely special for the way she blessed me as a daughter. That’s how I always want to make my mom’s birthday special."
Khan was last seen on screen in Begum Jaan (2017), with Vidya Balan. The film was a remake of the Bengali film Rajkahini (2015); both films were directed by Srijit Mukherji.
