Actress Deepika Padukone, who is slated to work with Irrfan Khan in Vishal Bhardwaj's next, spoke about her co-star's health on the sidelines of the Hello Hall of Fame Awards held in Mumbai yesterday.

The actress who has previously worked with Khan in the 2015 hit Piku, asked everyone to pray for his health. "I think we should always pray for people and their good health. If his (Irrfan’s) health is not best at this point, I think it is important for all of us to pray, not just for him, but for everyone. I always say a small little prayer for myself and everyone around. Yes, I think the last couple of weeks have been emotionally challenging, but yes, I think we all should say a little prayer," she said.

Khan had recently taken to Twitter to inform that he was suffering from a rare illness and would reveal the details once things were clearer. He had also requested everyone not to speculate. But unfortunately, rumours about the 51-year-old actor suffering from brain tumour began doing the rounds.

Certain reports also stated that Khan would be flying to the US to investigate the disease and get medical help.

Padukone asserted that Khan should be given the privacy that he has requested for. "I think like he has requested that there are times when people need to be left alone for sometime and figure their lives out... We should respect the space they have requested for and hope for the best," she said.

A couple of weeks ago, Bhardwaj had taken to Twitter to announce that the shoot of his film starring the two had been pushed back by a few months as Khan was recovering from jaundice and Padukone was dealing with a back injury. Buzz in the industry is that the film may be put on the backburner as Khan is now dealing with a major health crisis.

Padukone, who was dealing with an injury she had suffered during Padmaavat (2018), said that she is doing much better now, and will begin physiotherapy soon.

“All is good on the health front. I got so many wishes from fraternity and media. Things are back to normal and I will be starting my physiotherapy soon. There is nothing to worry about," said Padukone.

While Padukone hasn't signed any other film yet, Khan will be next be seen in the film Blackmail, which will be released in the theatres on 6 April. His health though hasn't permitted him to participate in the promotion of the film.
