All the three newly released films this week have failed to impress. T-Series' much-hyped erotic, revenge drama Hate Story IV failed to live up to expectations. It had an average opening of Rs3.50 crore nett, as reported by Boxofficeindia.com. Last film in the franchise, Hate Story 3 (2015) had made Rs8.54 crore nett.
Made at an estimated budget of Rs21 crore (including prints and advertisement), Hate Story IV is said to have been released across 1,900 screens in India. The film has received largely negative reviews.
The other films — 3 Storeys and Dil Junnglee — fared poorly as they earned well below Rs1 crore nett on their opening day. 3 Storeys earned Rs35 lakh nett, while Dil Juunglee collected Rs25 lakh nett.
Meanwhile, Luv Ranjan's Sonu Ke Titu Ki Sweety had a fairly good third Friday, earning Rs1.75-2 crore nett. The romantic drama has so far made Rs72.81 crore nett in India.
Anushka Sharma’s Pari managed just Rs50 lakh nett in its week two. Pari has so far made Rs20.50 crore nett in India.
