Director Shashanka Ghosh’s Veere Di Wedding continued its good run on its second Friday yesterday (8 June) at the domestic box office. The film, starring Kareena Kapoor Khan, Swara Bhasker, Sonam K Ahuja and Shikha Talsania, made Rs2.75 crore, as per figures shared by Boxofficeindia.com.
Veere Di Wedding review: Some fun, lots of chaos
The film finished its first week with an impressive Rs52.75 crore, earning Rs35 crore in the first weekend itself.
Following this, it collected Rs5.25 crore on its first Monday (4 June) and managed to hold well in the next two days. It saw a drop in collection on Thursday (7 June), earning about Rs4.25 crore. This could be because Thursday saw two biggies hit the screens - Rajinikanth's Kaala and the Hollywood sci-fi film Jurassic World: The Fallen Kingdom.
As per trade sources, Veere Di Wedding is made at a cost of Rs40-45 crore and its total earnings stand at Rs55.50 crore. Therefore, the makers have nothing to worry about.
Meanwhile, director Abhishek Sharma’s Parmanu: The Story Of Pokhran did decent business on its third Friday (8 June), earning Rs90 lakh. The film has so far earned a respectable Rs51.59 crore.
Meghna Gulzar’s Raazi, starring Alia Bhatt and Vicky Kaushal, collected Rs45 lakh. The film's total earnings now stand at Rs117 crore.
