When the most popular GenNext star meets a slam-bang hit filmmaker, there is bound to be loads of fun.
Ranveer Singh and Sara Ali Khan began shooting for their Christmas release Simmba in Hyderabad today and the production team shot a video in which the leading man gives us a glimpse of what to expect from his character, a crazy cop, and spills out his punchline.
“Three-star police inspector Sangram Bhalerao. Zo deto traas, tyacha me gheto class [I’m three-star police inspector Sangram Bhalerao. I'll teach a lesson to those who try to create trouble]." Our English translation, of course, does not quite capture the zing of the Marathi original.
As director Rohit Shetty cautions Ranveer Singh not reveal the film's dialogues just yet, Sara Ali Khan appears and asks, “Is this the set for Singham 3?"
Both Sara Ali Khan and Ranveer Singh have been born and brought up in Mumbai and appear to have a good grasp of the local language. With the oiled hair and twirly moustache, Singh looks a cool cop.
Simmba is said to be a remake of the Telugu film Temper (2016). Click the link in Karan Johar's tweet below to watch the video of Singh introducing his character:
