Manisha Koirala looks exactly like Nargis in new Sanju poster

Koirala's Nargis is the latest character to be revealed on the poster of the Sanjay Dutt biopic, directed by Rajkumar Hirani.

Once Ranbir Kapoor nailed the look and feel of actor Sanjay Dutt in the teaser and trailer of the biopic Sanju, all eyes turned to the rest of the cast in the Rajkumar Hirani directed film to find out how they would match up to their real-life counterparts.

The trailer of Sanju didn't revealed much about Manisha Koirala's Nargis, but it seems like the look has been achieved. The newest poster of the film shows Koirala in a strikingly similar pose as Nargis in an old photograph. The sepia-toned poster captures her smile, her raised eyebrows and expression to the T. An extra touch of the bindi and the long braid down her left shoulder finishes off the look.

Hirani introduced the poster online and wrote, "She lovingly called him #Sanju, and now that's what we all do too! Watch the ever so wonderful Manisha Koirala as Nargisji on 29th June." Sanju was her nickname for her eldest child, Sanjay.

Last year, in an interaction with us, Koirala had revealed that the late Sunil Dutt had said she reminded him of Nargis when he saw her film. "Dutt saw Bombay (1995) at the Ajanta preview theatre. After watching the film, he called my mom and said this girl [Manisha] has shades of Nargis in her. My mom was stunned, but he said, I am telling you, she has a spark," the actress recalled.

Earlier in May, the actress told IANS, a news agnecy, that playing Nargis was like a dream role. "I am really honoured to have played Nargis Dutt ji in the film. It's like any actress's dream role. Though I have a very small role in the film... It's a special appearance, but I am really excited to know audience reaction about my role and the film," she said.

Sanju, which is due to be released on 29 June, also stars Paresh Rawal (as Sunil Dutt), Sonam Kapoor, Vicky Kaushal, Anushka Sharma and Dia Mirza.
