Television and film actress Shweta Prasad Basu, who shot to fame as the child artiste in Vishal Bhardwaj’s Makdee (2002), is engaged to filmmaker Rohit Mittal. The ceremony took place a few days back but the couple chose to keep it a private affair.
Mittal, however, confirmed the news in a brief interview with us, “Yes, we our engaged. The ceremony took place sometime back, in Goa. We didn’t want to tell anyone as it was purely a close family affair.”
Mittal and Basu have been in a relationship since four years. "I have know Shweta for four years. We first met at Phantom Films's office. That’s how we became friends. It was Basu who proposed to me and I said yes. We are now looking at getting married around the year end,” he added.
Mittal's Autohead (2016) was screened at Mumbai Film Festival. The film, that was critically appreciated, is available on Netflix.
“It’s always struggle to get the right backing for a film, but I’m happy with the response the film had got film festivals and on Netflix,” said Mittal, who has finished shooting his next project.
Basu was last sean in Badrinath Ki Dulhania (2017).
