Yami Gautam seems to have hit a purple patch. Even as she works on her schedule for Shree Narayan Singh's Batti Gul Meter Chalu, the actress has started preparing for Aditya Dhar's film on the Uri attack of 2016.
The film marks Dhar's directorial debut and will see Vicky Kaushal and Kirti Kulhari as well in pivotal roles.
According to early reports, Yami Gautam is set to play an army intelligence officer who is closely involved in countering the terrorist attack.
Naturally, the actress has focused on her looks to bring 'believability' to her role. While she has taken on an intensive workout regime to get in shape, Yami has also cut her hair short to capture the look of an army officer.
The actress posted a picture on her Instagram account featuring her latest look.
Speaking about the film, she said, "I was extremely excited when the character needed this specific look for the film. When Aditya discussed it with me, I jumped at the opportunity of making my character more believable. So we did a few trials and went ahead. I am loving my look. Hope audiences love it too."
Tentatively titled Uri, the film is being produced by Ronnie Screwvala's RSVP Productions.
