Actor Salman Khan and filmmaker Sanjay Leela Bhansali have collaborated on a few films before, most notable among them is Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam (1999).
It is well known that Bhansali wanted to make Bajirao Mastani (2015) with Khan, but that dream didn't take off. Khan last did a cameo for Bhansali in Saawariya (2007). As per a report in the Hindustan Times, a daily, Khan's next film with Bhansali might be titled Inshallah.
"Inshallah might be the title of the film that will reunite Sanjay and Salman. He got the title registered last week with IMPAA [Indian Motion Pictures Producers' Assoiation]. And looking at Bhansali’s working style, he might take six to nine months to complete the final draft of the script, and he may start shooting by next year, after Salman is done with his other prior commitments including his next film, Bharat,” the report quoted a source as saying. If things go as planned, Bhansali could be eyeing a 2020 release for the film.
It must be recalled that during a recent interview, Khan had added a Bhansali film in the list of his upcoming projects, adding that No Entry and Wanted sequels are off the table.
"There is no No Entry or Wanted sequel happening. I am doing Bharat, Dabangg 3 and Sher Khan. The Kick 2 script isn’t ready at the moment and then there is a dance film with Remo and one Bhansali film when he comes and narrates it. We recently discussed it,” Khan had said.
Another source close to the actor says it would be too early to talk about the Bhansali film. “I have no idea of the title that you mentioned, but Salman did hold talks with Bhansali ji and he’s mostly doing that film. I don't know when that happens, it’s s too early to talk,” the source said.
Khan will soon begin shooting for Bharat which will go on until the year end.
When asked if Khan will shoot for Inshallah after finishing Ali Abbas Zafar's Bharat, and whether this will delay the shoot of Dabangg 3, the source replied, “I don’t know about that yet. As of now, Khan is supposed to shoot for Bharat and Dabangg 3. You’ll come to know if there is any change in his schedule.”
