Actor Jai is in trouble again. He was only recently booked by the Chennai police for drunken driving after the actor rammed his Audi into a sidewalk on Lattice Bridge Road in Adayar in an inebriated state.

It may be recalled that the cops had only recently seized the actor's car and filed a case at the Saidapet court against the actor. Jai was issued summons but failed to turn up at the court, after which the court issued a non-bailable warrant against him.

Jai then surrendered in court after this development. The court, which imposed a fine on the actor for drunken driving, had also revoked his licence for a period of six months.

Under these circumstances, Jai was again caught violating traffic rules recently by the Chennai traffic police.

Sources close to the development said that the Chennai traffic police were conducting routine checks in Nungambakkam in the city when they found a fancy car, the silencer of which was making noises that was way over the permissible limit, making its way in the traffic. On inspection, they found actor Jai behind the wheel.

The cops on duty are believed to have pointed out to the actor that being a celebrity, he must be a role model to others and not be found breaking traffic rules. Jai is believed to have apologised to the cops and seems to have given them an assurance that he would not break any more rules in future.

The police then shot an awareness video with the actor in it. In the video, the actor says, "This is my car. Nobody must drive cars that make so much noise as it could affect those in hospitals and schools. If you drive vehicles that have silencers that are fitted with the sole intention of making noise, the police will seize them and impose a fine on you."

Sources say the cops imposed a fine of Rs1,500 on the actor for the offence.
