Shankar Mahadevan returns to Marathi cinema with Youngraad

The senior artist has sung 'Goshta Ramachi,' the narrative track of the film.

Shankar Mahadevan returns to Marathi cinema as a singer in director Makarand Mane’s Youngraad (2018). He has sung the song 'Goshta Ramachi', the narrative track that tells the story of the film.

Before Youngraad, Shankar composed the music of and sang for the Marathi film, Katyar Kaljat Ghusli (2015) which was Subodh Bhave's celebrated directorial debut. Shankar also made his acting debut in the film in the prominent role of Pandit Bhanu Shankar Shastri.

Speaking about the song at the music launch of the film, Shankar said, “I enjoyed singing the narrative song in the film. Music composer duo has done a tremendous job. Youngraad’s music is a perfect team work and I am sure this film and music will be a huge success.” The music is composed by duo Hriday Gattani and Gandhaar.

The music of the film was released by Shankar. “I am happy that Mahadevan ji released the music of the film. The youngster duo has given wonderful music to the film and it will be liked by music lovers,” said director Mane.

Youngraad is the story of four youngsters, played by Chaitanya Deore, Saurabh Padvi, Shiv Wagh and Jeevan Karalkar, who get into a life of crime. The film also stars Shashank Shende, Vitthal Patil, Savita Prabhune, Sharad Kelkar, Shireen Patil and others.

Youngraad will be released on 6 July.
