The audiences were surprised when actor Ranbir Kapoor, who plays Sanjay Dutt in the biopic, titled Sanju, revealed that Dutt dated 308 girls in the film's trailer. Director Rajkumar Hirani is now out with yet another revelation.
In an interview to television channel India Today, Hirani spoke about how Dutt got his girlfriends emotionally attached to him. Apparently, the actor won over the girls by taking them to a random grave claiming it to be of his mother's, late actress Nargis.
“He would start dating a girl and take her to this graveyard. He would say, 'I have brought you here to meet my mother.' After this unusual meeting, the girl would feel emotionally attached to Sanju. The reality was that the grave was not his mother's," Hirani said.
The director also revealed that Dutt held grudges against his ex-girlfriends.
"A girl broke up with him. So, Sanjay took his friend's new car and smashed it into another car parked outside his ex-girlfriend's house. Later on, Sanjay found out that the car he rammed into belonged to his ex-girlfriend's new boyfriend. Both cars were severely damaged," he added.
In his prime, Dutt had a playboy image and has been married thrice. He first married actress Richa Sharma in 1987. Sharma, however, passed away at 32 in 1996 due to brain tumour. The actor then married model Rhea Pillai in 1998, but the couple divorced in 2008. The same year, Dutt tied the knot with Dilnshin Shaikh, better known as Manyata Dutt.
Sanju is set to be released on 29 June.
