The first poster of Fanney Khan makes it clear that the film will be a colourful musical entertainer. It features Anil Kapoor with his back to the camera. Directed by Aishwarya Rai Bachchan and Rajkummar Rao, the film marks the directorial debut of Atul Manjrekar.
Fanney Khan is the official Hindi remake of the Oscar nominated Belgian comedy Everybody’s Famous! (2000).
In the poster, Kapoor can be seen with a bugle on one hand and tiffin on the other. He looks like the common man, ready to go to work, albeit with a bugle.
The images of celebrated singers Mohammed Rafi and Mahendra Kapoor, and iconic actor Shashi Kapoor in the background are enough to tell that Hindi cinema and its music will be an integral part of the film.
Fanney Khan is Kapoor and Rai Bachchan's third film together. They were earlier seen in Subhash Ghai’s Taal (1999) and Satish Kaushik’s Humara Dil Aapke Paas Hai (2000).
It seems the makers of Fanney Khan have made quite a few changes in the remake. The original film focused on a teenage girl who is forced to become a singer.
Produced by Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra, T-Series and Anil Kapoor Films, Fanney Khan is all set to be released on 3 August.
