The meeting is interesting considering Dutt once wanted to beat up Kapoor over suspicion involving a former actress, as revealed by veteran actor Gulshan Grover in his biography.

All eyes are on actor Ranbir Kapoor as the much-awaited Sanjay Dutt biopic Sanju, will be released on 29 June. Ranbir disclosed during a media interaction yesterday that Dutt will get to see the film on 27 June.
Ranbir is, however, keen to learn how his father Rishi Kapoor reacts to the film. The senior Kapoor is known to call a spade a spade and he has been critical of his son’s film choices in the past.
“I am waiting for his [dad Rishi Kapoor] response to the film. My mother saw the film two days back and she loved it. But also I know she is my mother and she loves everything I do. So I am waiting for my father's reaction," Ranbir said during the media interaction.
After the media interaction, Ranbir and Rishi met Dutt at Rishi's residence in the western suburbs of Mumbai.

The senior Kapoor is said to have invited Dutt to his house. This picture reflected the bonhomie between the Kapoors and Dutt. Later, Ranbir was snapped with rumoured girlfriend, actress Alia Bhatt at Dutt's house, presumably the couple had gone to drop Dutt.
Interestingly, it may be recalled that in their younger days, Dutt and Rishi were not exactly cordial. In fact, Dutt supposedly once wanted to beat up Rishi, who he suspected of having an affair with his then girlfriend, Tina Munim [now Ambani].
Veteran actor Gulshan Grover has written about this incident in his biography.
“It’s true. Sanju was having an affair with Tina Munim at the time, and he thought that Chintu [as Rishi is referred to by his friends] was having one with her too. Sanju and I were like brothers, and he told me one day, ‘We have to go to Chintu’s house and beat him up’. We went to do that, but his fiancée Neetuji managed to convince us that Chintu was not in any such relationship. So we left,” Grover mentioned in his biography, Bad Man of Bollywood.
Munim went on to marry industrialist Anil Ambani, while Dutt is currently married to Manyata Dutt.
Dutt and Rishi have previously worked in Hathyar (1989) and Sahibaan (1993). They were last seen together in Dharma Productions' Agneepath (2012).
Sanju will be released on 29 June.
