It seems negative reviews and dismissive word-of-mouth are finally affecting the numbers of Salman Khan's Eid presentation.

The box office collection of director Remo D’Souza’s Race 3 saw a major drop for the first time yesterday (19 June) since it hit the screens on 15 June. The film, starring Salman Khan, Jacqueline Fernandez, Anil Kapoor, Bobby Deol, Daisy Shah and Saqib Saleem, ended the day with Rs9.50 crore, as per figures shared by Boxofficeindia.com.

Race 3 review: This vehicle runs out of gas long before the finish line

Race 3 had an excellent first weekend (Rs27.69 crore on Friday, Rs36.25 crore on Saturday and Rs37 crore on Sunday), earning a total of Rs100.94 crore, despite the high number of negative reviews and dismissive word-of-mouth. On Monday (18 June) the earning saw a drop as the film made only Rs14 crore.

But with yesterday’s single digit number, it seems the negative reactions are finally cathcing up with the film.

Though Race 3 earned a little over Rs100 crore in the first weekend, it made less than Khan's last release, Tiger Zinda Hai (2017). The film, directed by Ali Abbas Zafar, had earned a decent Rs114.91 crore in the first three days.

Race 3 is made at an estimated budget of Rs80-90 crore and its total earning currently stands at Rs124.44 crore.

There are no Hindi films slated to be released on Friday (22 June). This is perhaps to stay clear from Race 3 and Rajkumar Hirani’s Sanju, that hits the screens on 29 June.
