Actor Ranbir Kapoor might be well in his 30s, but that does not stop veteran actor Rishi Kapoor from being a doting and strict father. So, one can imagine how concerned he would have been for his son years ago. Ranbir revealed an interesting anecdote related to actor Sanjay Dutt. Incidentally, Ranbir is playing the Khal Nayak (1993) star in Rajkumar Hirani’s biopic, Sanju.
While talking to DNA newspaper, the Ae Dil Hai Mushkil (2016) actor recalled the time when Dutt had presented him with an expensive gift. “He treats me like a younger brother and spoils me with many gifts as well as a lot of love. He gave me a Harley Davidson motorcycle for my birthday,” he said.
But Ranbir knew this wouldn't go down well with father Rishi, who gave the real Sanju a earful after finding out. “It’s [the bike] at home. I remember I had to hide it from Papa for a long time as he doesn’t like bikes. When he found out that Sanjay sir had gifted me one, he called him and fired him. He told him, ‘Stop spoiling my son, isko tere jaisa mat bana.’ But now, he is aware that I have the bike. It is one of my most prized possessions,” added Ranbir.
Last year, Rishi had come down heavily on director Anurag Basu after Jagga Jasoos (2017), which Ranbir produced and acted in, bombed at the box office. Looks like nothing much has changed.
