Shah Rukh Khan's Red Chillies Entertainment has decided to co-produce director Sujoy Ghosh's Badla with Sunir Kheterpal's Azure Entertainment. The film, starring Amitabh Bachchan and Taapsee Pannu, is a maiden collaboration between Ghosh and Khan.
“Red Chillies Entertainment is excited to announce its next film #BADLA, in association with Azure Ent., starring the legendary @SrBachchan & the very talented @taapsee, helmed by acclaimed director @Sujoy_G.,” the production house announced on Twitter.
Badla is said to be the remake of the Spanish film Contratiempo (The Invisible Guest) that released in 2017. The film is likely to have a Korean and Italian remakes too. The Spanish film revolved around a young businessman who is accused of murdering his mistress.
The shooting for Badla has commenced in Glasgow, Scotland. The Times of India, a daily, had reported that actor Ali Fazal will be part of the film, but there has been no confirmation from the makers yet.
Ghosh has earlier directed Bachchan in fantasy adventure film Aladin (2009) and thriller Te3n (2016), while Bachchan and Khan had last worked together 10 years ago in Bhoothnath (2008).
