Carry on Jatta 2 gets record opening for a Punjabi film 

The Gippy Grewal-starrer bagged Rs3.05 crore (gross) to surprass the Rs2.53-crore collection made by Sardaarji 2 on its opening day.

Directed Smeep Kang, Carry On Jatta 2 has set a new record for a Punjabi film. The Gippy Grewal-starrer film has bagged slighty over Rs3.05 crore gross in the East Punjab market. The film has bagged a further Rs56 lakh in Delhi, UP and the rest of India to take its gross total to about Rs3.61 crore.

Trade analyst Taran Adarsh tweeted:

The film sets a record opening for a Punjabi film, beating Diljit Dosanjh-starrer Sardaarji 2 (2016) that made Rs2.53 crore (gross) on its opening day. Both films are produced by White Hill Studios.

It has garnered a whopping gross of Rs3.61 crore All India. I am so humbled and happy. Thank you for all the love and support [sic]," elated producer Gunbir Singh Sidhu posted on his Facebook page.
