Director Rajkumar Hirani's Sanju is all set to be released next week. While all eyes will be on Ranbir Kapoor, who plays the lead role of Sanjay Dutt in the biopic, the film also boasts of an impressive supporting cast. Anushka Sharma plays a biographer to whom Kapoor as Dutt bares his story.
Intrigue has surrounded the look of Sharma's character that sports big curly hair.
Speaking to select media recently, director Hirani was asked about Sharma’s peculiar look in the film, her hardo in particularly.
"She is playing a biographer who comes from London. I wanted to give her a look where she looks like an Indian who stayed in London and was brought up there. I always like to play with the looks of the characters in every film that I do," Hirani told entertainment website Pinkvilla.com.
Sharma wears a wig in the film. While the actress did not have any qualms over donning a wig, she did have an absurd observation.
The director added, “Anushka used to joke with me saying that, 'Sir, you don't like my hair, that's why you keep putting these wigs on my head',”. Sharma's character in Hirani's PK (2014) also sported a wig.
Sanju will be out in theatres on 29 June.
