In a twist worthy of one of his films, director Sriram Raghavan has changed the title of his upcoming project. Initially called Shoot The Piano Player, the film will now be called Andhadhun.
Starring Ayushmann Khurrana, Radhika Apte and Tabu, the film is a thriller with Khurrana playing a blind pianist.
In the quirky title announcement video, the stars joined the rest of the crew in thinking up weird names to upstage the film's working title. They seemed to be stuck in a musical rut with titles like 'Ankhon Ankhon Mein', 'Naina Thug Legi' and 'Mud Mud Ke Na Dekh' ruling the roost.
It was Apte who came up with a mischievous title that hit the suburban chord. She suggested the title of Sriram's next ought to be Andheri, considering his previous film, a revenge drama, was named after a town outside Mumbai, Badlapur (2015).
Incidentally, the film has been shot outside Mumbai, in Pune.
The film's final title, however, is Andhadhun, playing off the prominent characterization of Khurrana as a blind pianist. The first look of the film will be released tomorrow.
