Kartik Aaryan’s stock has risen in Hindi cinema following the unexpected success of Sonu Ke Titu Ki Sweety. The buzz is that the man from Gwalior is being courted by big names, including Sanjay Leela Bhansali and Karan Johar.

The young actor was all set for a maiden performance at the International Indian Film Academy (IIFA) awards. Unfortunately, a ligament injury has put paid to that dream.

But that does not mean Aaryan will not be going to the IIFA awards 2017 function in Bangkok, Thailand, at all this year. While he may not dance on stage, Aaryan will be co-hosting IIFA Rocks, a pre-event before the main awards.

Kartik Aaryan suffered the ligament injury three months ago, but the problem has resurfaced, forcing him to cut down on strenuous activities, according to a report on the website Bollywoodhungama.com.

Aaryan’s pain flared up after he reportedly resumed football practice. The actor is likely to consult an orthopaedic surgeon upon his return from the awards show.

Aaryan will be co-hosting the IIFA Rocks event with Ayushmann Khurrana. On the work front, he is rumoured to be doing a film for Karan Johar's Dharma Productions.
