KC Bokadia produced and directed a number of Hindi films in the 1990s, including Aaj Ka Arjun (1990), Phool Bane Angaray (1991), Muqadma (1996) and Lal Baadshah (1999). He has now turned towards Marathi cinema as the presenter of director Gajendra Ahire’s Sohalla.
The trailer of the film, starring Sachin Pilgaonkar and Shilpa Tulaskar, promises a touching and emotional tale.
Sohalla's trailer begins with a wheelchair bound, ailing Girish (Pilgaonkar). He looks back at his life that was once colourful with his wife Vidya (Tulaskar) and a thriving career. However, circumstances ensure that he parts ways from both.
He returns years later as a poor man wanting to sell off his land, equally owned by Vidya. A lawyer (Mohan Joshi) helps him to complete the formalities of selling the land.
Sohalla seems like an emotional journey similar to Ahire’s 2013 film Anumati, although the plot of both films are different.
Looks like Pilgaonkar is ready with an impressive performance after the set back in Ranangan (2018), directed by Rakesh Sarang. Tulaskar appears reliable as always.
The trailer also introduces Vikram Gokhale in the film. However, the veteran actor's role and character have not been revealed.
The release date of the film has not been announced yet.
