Race 3 song: Salman Khan has found love in Jacqueline Fernandez

Technology is there to aid playback singers, but there’s little you can do in the absence of the basic element — a good singing voice.

Salman Khan has found love.

His fans have been waiting for such an announcement from the Race 3 actor, but as of now, it's only in a song. Only a day after the film hit the theatres, the makers of Race 3 have released 'I Found Love'. The song is a recreation of former British kickboxer and singer Abdul Ali, better known as Ali Jacko's, track of the same name.

Khan has written and sung the song himself. He has another song that he wrote and sang, 'Selfish', in the same film. 'I Found Love' has more respectable lyrics but still just about makes it to the average category. The Hindi-English mish-mash of words could have been curbed. For the record, the original track, too, didn’t have great lyrics.

Khan's singing can be best termed as lousy. Technology is there to aid playback singers, but there’s little you can do in the absence of the basic element — a good singing voice. May be Khan shouldn’t have been ‘selfish’ here and let a professional croon the ‘I Found Love’ track. His co-singer Veera Saxena has to make do with a bad singer. But credits to Saxena whose enchanting voice truly lifts the track. She’s doesn’t stumble while moving from the low to the high notes. Composer Vishal Mishra is a soothing voice in the additional vocals.

The Race 3 version easily scores over the original in terms of the composition. With due respect to the original composer Jayanta Pathak, this reveiwer thinks Mishra manages to score more a romantic, melodious tune. Pathak used minimum instruments whereas Mishra’s ‘I Found Love’ has a more vibrant, endearing pop vibe.

Race 3 review: This vehicle runs out of gas long before the finish line

As for the visuals, director Remo D’Souza has shot the song in exotic locales, but the track is purely enjoyable for its music. While there is no great chemisty visible here, as a fan of Khan and Jacqueline Fernandez, you could appreciate what you see.
