Subir Mondal begins shooting for his debut feature film Shortcut

The film features Parambrata Chatterjee, Gourab Chakraborty, Anindita Bose, Apu Biswas, Chandan Sen and Arin in important roles.

Debut filmmaker Subir Monal has already started shooting for his Shortcut based on a story written by noted singer and composer Nachiketa Chakraborty.

The film features Parambrata Chatterjee, Gourab Chakraborty, Anindita Bose, Apu Biswas, Chandan Sen and Arin in important roles.

In the film, a homeless person commits suicide by jumping before a speeding bus on the road, to have the easiest shortcut to salvation. Two friends Bishu and Abesh are shaken to their marrow to experience the incident right in front of their eyes.

Bishu (Chatterjee) is a slum dweller, while Abesh (Gourab) comes from an elite family and wishes to be a poet. Both of them, failures in their respective lives, perceive the incident in their own way and use it to their advantage. Fired from all the jobs, Bishu starts throwing himself on the road in front of speeding vehicles and pretends to be heavily injured, while his companion extorts money from the vehicle owners.

Abesh, on the other hand, quits his aspirations to become a poet and begins to film Bishu, along with his girlfriend from Dhaka, Nargis (Biswas).

The story seems to offer a unique concept and promises to explore the alleys of Kolkata like never before.

The film has been produced by Tarun Das and the shooting is likely to be wrapped up soon.
