Anup Soni is ready to make a comeback in films after eight years. He will feature in the yet untitled film starring Sanjay Dutt, Manisha Koirala, Ali Fazal and Amyra Dastur. The film is a Hindi remake of Deva Katta's Telugu feature Prasthanam (2010). Katta will also direct the remake.
Although there is no information on Soni’s character, the makers have revealed that he plays Dutt’s character's family member. “The two will be filming important scenes together from July onwards,” read an official statement. The film went on floors on 1 June, which was the 89th birth anniversary of Dutt’s mother, Nargis Dutt.
This is the third project Dutt and Soni would be working together in, after Hathyar: Face To Face With Reality (2002) and Tathastu (2006).
Soni was last seen on the big screen in Punjabi film, Sukhmani (2010), and Hindi film, Striker (2010). Last year, he was featured in the web series, The Test Case, starring Nimrat Kaur.
Telegu film Prasthanam was a family-cum-political drama starring Sai Kumar, Sharwanand, Sundeep Kishan and Ruby Parihar. It tells the story of a political heir torn between his trustworthy step-son and evil, biological son.
