There are still six months to go before we can see Shah Rukh Khan in Zero (2018), but the first teaser video of the film which was released today, shows us a bit more about Shah Rukh's character Bauua Singh and his world. The teaser which debuts just in time for Eid, also has the presence of a very special superstar — Salman Khan.

Last year, Shah Rukh made a special appearance in Salman's Tubelight (2017) and it looks like Salman is returning the favour with an appearance in this teaser. It's not clear whether Salman is in the film as well. Although since the film is set in the world of films, it would make sense for Salman to show up.

The teaser begins with Bauua Singh walking the corridors of a fighting arena, Luma, as an announcer (possibly Jaaved Jaaferi) voices a couplet by late lyricist Majrooh Sultanpuri. "Main akela hi chala tha janib-e-manzil magar/Log saath aate gaye aur karwaan banta gaya". The announcer hints someone special is about to join the excited crowd. As Shah Rukh thinks the fervour is for him, Salman casually walks up behind him.

Shah Rukh is dressed in jeans and a leather jacket. He wears a T-shirt bearing the likeliness of actress Katrina Kaif's character, who is said to be playing a film star in Zero.

He finally turns around and notices Salman. He says to Bauua Singh, "I've heard that whoever you go after, you change their lives, is this true?".

The two then gleefully dance together during which time, Buaa Singh excitedly jumps into Salman's arms and plants a kiss on his cheek. It is an infectiously happy atmosphere.

Zero, which is written by director Aanand L Rai's longtime collaborator Himanshu Sharma, also features Anushka Sharma. Produced by Shah Rukh's wife, Gauri, Zero is due to be released on 21 December 2018.
