Hours before Vishwaroopam 2 trailer release, Kamal Haasan makes his Instagram debut

Since turning his attention to politics, actor Kamal Haasan has stuck to Twitter as his favoured social media platform. The actor's tweets for social causes, against political moves, and even praising fellow politicians have helped him build an image. However, with the trailer of his latest film, Vishwaroopam 2, set to be released, the actor-director seems to have taken up a new social media platform. Haasan made his debut on Instagram a couple of hours before the trailer for the film was to be launched. 

Unlike his Twitter platform, Haasan's presence on social media seems to target the promotions of his film. The director shared a poster of the upcoming film, featuring him as the pistol-toting secret agent, complete with dark sunglasses and outfit. 

The trailer to the highly anticipated sequel of the 2013 film was expected to be released by Aamir Khan at 5 pm today. The bilingual film will release in Tamil and Hindi, and have a dubbed release in Telugu, on 10 August. 

Directed by Haasan himself, Vishwaroopam 2 will also star Andrea Jeremiah, Shekhar Kapur, Waheeda Rehman, Nasser among others. After a long delay, the film was certified by the CBFC (Central Board of Film Certification) on 14 March. 

Incidentally, Kapur tweeted to Haasan suggesting that the next time he should direct and Haasan should act in the film. 

Haasan's reply implied that the film planned between the two directors is based on a political subject, that has been in the offing for the last 35 years. 'We have been planning that movie for nearly 35 years. We have to speed up or all we can do is a political documentary, In that case I won’t have to act at all,' said Haasan. 

Vishwaroopam 2 is set to be release on 10 August.
