In December last year, Nawazuddin Siddiqui impressed one and all with his look as the late Shiv Sena chief Bal Thackeray for a biopic titled Thackeray.
However, the first look and teaser were in black-and-white, having only a few elements in colour, though, with the help of prosthetics, Siddiqui looked the part.
Now, the makers have released a new poster, in colour, that gives a fair idea as to how Siddiqui truly looks as Thackeray.
The image has Siddiqui in a pensive mood wearing the trademark saffron shawl that Thackeray always sported. The actor seems to have imbibed the intensity of the late politician.
It must be noted that Siddiqui never met Thackeray for the leader died in 2012. Fine actor that he is, Siddiqui appears to have studied thoroughly for his role to get the body language right.
Reportedly, Siddiqui had to get a prosthetic nose to fit into the character, but the fitting is too seamless to be noticed. The image has Siddiqui's Thackeray sitting comfortably in what looks like his home. The chair Siddiqui is sitting on is very similar to the animal-printed chair Thackeray was often pictured in. The wooden eagle showpiece next to him, perhaps, symbolizes power.
Produced by Shiv Sena MP Sanjay Raut, Thackeray is being shot in Marathi and Hindi, and is scheduled to be released on 23 January 2019.
