Veere Di Wedding, which had earned Rs54.46 crore in the first week of being released, managed to make Rs11.50 crore on its second weekend. Released on 1 June, the film, directed by Shashanka Ghosh, has now touched Rs65.96 crore in 10 days.
The film was slightly affected by the release of Rajinikanth's Kaala and the Hollywood film Jurassic World: The Fallen Kingdom. While Veere Di Wedding earned only about Rs2.75 on Friday, the collections doubled on Saturday with Rs4.25 and remained steady on Sunday with Rs4.50crore.
As per trade sources, Veere Di Wedding has been made at a cost of Rs40-45 crore. The second weekend collections are good for an A-rated romantic comedy and the film is slated to earn good profits.

The film, starring Kareena Kapoor Khan, Swara Bhasker, Sonam Kapoor Ahuja and Shikha Talsania, though has four days to earn as much as it can because numbers are likely to fall once Salman Khan-starrer Race 3 hits the screens on 15 June.
The Khan film is likely to grab tons of the screens and we will have to wait to find out if Veere Di Wedding can sustain through it.
