Even as the preparations for the release of the Race 3, starring Salman Khan, Bobby Deol, Jacqueline Fernandez, goes underway this week, the lead actress of the film has suffered an injury. Fernandez posted an image of her eye, outlining the permanent damage to her iris, due to a mishap while shooting Race 3.

The picture captures the misshapen iris of Fernandez's eye, with the actress revealing that it is a 'permanent damage'. "So it’s a permanent injury and my iris will never be a perfect round again but so so grateful I can see!!" the actress wrote.

The accident reportedly occurred during the shooting schedule of the film in Abu Dhabi in March. While it was earlier reported as a minor eye injury, it seems to be a little more than that. Hindustan Times, a daily, quoted producer Ramesh Taurani as confirming the injury saying it occurred when the actress was playing squash. Immediately after the injury, she was given primary treatment and rushed to the hospital.

However, the injury did not deter Fernandez from returning to sets to complete the schedule. The actress has been quite active in the promotion of the films as well.

Seeing how in her last films like A Gentleman (2017) and Dishoom (2016) saw the actress take on quite a few stunts on her own, she seems to be upping the ante in Race 3.

The film will be released on 15 June.
