Mithun’s son Mahaakshay’s marriage cancelled after police arrive to investigate rape charges

The marriage of Mahaakshay Chakraborty, son of veteran actor Mithun Chakraborty, which was scheduled to take place on Saturday (7 July) with actress Madalsa Sharma was cancelled. A police team arrived at the venue in Ooty to investigate the rape charges against him.

As per reports, the wedding couldn’t take place as Sharma's family left the venue after the arrival of the police team. Madalasa’s mother Sheela David had said last week that they were aware of the case and alleged that the victim was lying.

The charges have been filed by a Hindi and Bhojpuri actress. She has accused Mahaakshay of rape, cheating and causing an abortion without consent after allegedly promising to marry her. According to her, he got her to abort their child by spiking her drink.

Along with Mahaakshay, his mother and Mithun’s wife Yogeeta Bali is also a co-accused in the case for allegedly threatening the actress of dire consequences if she continued the relationship.

Mahaakshay and Bali had approached the Bombay high court for interim bail. The bench rejected the plea since the FIR was filed by the orders of the Rohini court in Delhi. The two were granted interim bail yesterday by a court in Delhi.
